If you are having a problem please call (641) 792-3422 so the City can check the City owned sewer main for problems. This is at no cost to you. If we determine that the city's sewer main is not the problem, you will need to contact someone to check your sewer service line.
If this is an after-hours emergency, please call (641) 792-1547.
Sump Pump Program
This program is for the inspection of all sump pump connections to verify that the sump pump is not connected to the sanitary sewer system. A connection to the sanitary sewer system is illegal and will need to be disconnected and rerouted unless a variance has been granted.
All commercial and residential properties must be inspected when the property is sold or transferred and is valid for two years.
The waste disposal program provides septic tank system owners and food preparers an opportunity to dispose of their wastes in an environmentally proper and cost effective way. This program was developed to handle domestic septage including portable toilets and grease traps and not for the purpose of handling trucked wastes from industry or accepting of hazardous or toxic materials.
For more information please call 641-792-3422 ext. 200 or 201.
