HyrdoKlean of Des Moines will be performing smoke testing of sanitary sewers this week. Residents in areas being tested have been advised via door hangers. The areas affected will be roughly from Emerson Hough School to Skiff Hospital in northeast Newton; near Callison Park area of southwest Newton. The smoke is harmless and non-toxic; it may be seen coming from roof vents, cracks in the street and other areas.
