The Summer Youth Police Academy will be held July 15 - 19 at the Newton Police Department. The event is for students entering 5th-8th grade with participants learning about the duties of a police officer, crime scene investigations, arrest procedures, physical fitness, SWAT operations, K9 and traffic stops. This has been an annual event for over 25 years. Applications are available at the Police Department.
