The Newton Fire Department recently took possession of the newest vehicle for EMS services. Finishing touches like installing the radio and mobile computing equipment are in process. The ambulance is expected to be on the road within the next couple of weeks. Ambulances get replaced on a nine-year rotation, with one ambulance replaced every three years. This ambulance replaces a 2010 model that will be kept and used as a reserve. A reserve ambulance is on-hand as a back up to the other ambulances.
