Attendees of the Library’s Very Hungry Caterpillar 50th Anniversary program had a great time at the Picnic on June 26. The picnic was in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Eric Carle’s beloved book!
The kid’s had an exciting snack - the ate what the caterpillar ate in the book! They got to eat one slice of salami, one slice of watermelon, a piece of cherry pie, a cupcake, one piece of swiss cheese and a lollipop.
Thank you to the Jasper County Health Department staff for their assistance at the event and to the Friends of the Newton Public Library for donating a copy of the book for children to take home.
