Manatts, Inc. of Brooklyn, Iowa has begun work on milling and asphalt resurfacing of several local streets throughout Newton. The project includes the removal of the old street surface, placement of a new hot-mix asphalt surface, and construction of ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps at intersections along the project’s streets. Streets included in this contract are the 500-700 blocks of E 10th St S, the 400-600 blocks of N 6th Ave E, the 400 block of N 7th Ave E, the 400-600 blocks of W 10th St N, the 900 block of N 5th Ave W, the 1200 block of N 6th Ave E, the 200-700 blocks of W 3rd St S, and the 100-200 blocks of E 24th St S. Completion of the project is anticipated in mid-August.
