Our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program continues to grow, with 122 enrolled, and 35 children have completed the program by reaching the 1000 Book milestone! Congrats to Acelynn, who is our most recent finisher of the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program! She received a Dr. Seuss bag full of items to help her get ready for kindergarten. Did you know that a 2019 study published in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics found that kids who are read to every day are exposed to around 78,000 words each year—over five years, that adds up to 1.4 million words heard during storytime. Acelynn will have a great head start to success in school after listening to all of those books! Register your child at the Library anytime during normal business hours.
