The Fire Department ended this fiscal year (July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019) with an increase in calls again over last year.
The Fire Department responded to 3,272 calls for service. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) calls account for 90% of that total and accounted for 2,957 calls. In 2009 - 2010 the Fire Department responded to 1,969 calls – total fire and EMS combined. That equates to a 66% increase in calls over the nine-year period.
