The Newton Public Library was recently awarded a grant from the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. The STEM Scale-Up Award will enable the library to offer “Pint-Sized Science” programs for kids in PreK-Grade 2. Pint-Sized Science uses a hands-on approach that engages and inspires young minds to explore scientific phenomena.
The programs will be offered for free in the Newton community with all materials provided.
Youth Services Librarian Phyllis Peter is currently attending training sessions (via a video platform) and programs will be implemented as soon as in-person programming at the library resumes.
