[ARCHIVED] Newton Fire Department Cancels Public 9/11 Memorial Service for 2020

9-11 Image

Due to safety concerns involving COVID-19, the Newton Fire Department regretfully announces we will be cancelling the 9/11 Memorial Service for 2020.  The recurring theme for the annual memorial has been “Never Forget”.  The Newton Fire Department will never forget the 3,000 lives that were lost that day, including 343 firefighters.  In honor to those who made the ultimate sacrifice, members of the Fire Department will participate in a Memorial Stair Climb in conjunction with the Newton YMCA.  In addition, we will be holding a private service for Fire Department staff on 9/11.  Please keep the families of all those who lost loved ones on that dreadful day in 2001 in your thoughts and prayers on 9/11.
