The Newton Public Library Board voted last Thursday to enhance the Library’s COVID mitigation efforts to protect the public and library staff as COVID cases rise.
Starting Monday, November 23, the Library will be open for Browse-&-Go on Mondays only from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. with a browsing time limit of 30 minutes in the building.
Curbside and computers will be available by appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Staff will be in the building on Fridays but it will be closed to the public.
While Newton Public Library is limiting its hours of availability as COVID cases rise, we are remaining more open than surrounding libraries and offering more services. The Newton Public Library Board believes library services are critical to quality of life during these stressful times and are responsive to its community’s needs for library services.
The Board will reconsider its hours and limited services at its December meeting on Wednesday, December 16 at 4 p.m.
