Jasper County Health Department has announced that starting March 15, 2021, Jasper County will be opening up phase 1B, tier 1 to include adults from age 18 to 64 years old with certain medical conditions. When the vaccine opens up to this next group, JCHD will have more demand for the vaccines than availability of the vaccine. The county has a current allocation from the State of Iowa of about 500 doses per week.

Governor Reynolds announced on Wednesday, March 10 that if you need assistance in scheduling a vaccine, and are 65 years of age or older, to please call 211. The hotline has vaccine navigators to schedule appointments at nearby Hy-Vee pharmacies. 211 also has multilingual care navigators on staff and access to translation services if needed. Resource specialists are available 24 hours a day to answer basic questions.
