The City of Newton is now accepting applications for full-time Community Service Officer at the Newton Police Department.

The Community Service Officer position is an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a law enforcement career. Starting salary is $48,300 and includes a great benefits package. The City of Newton will conduct an in-depth background investigation, and a pre-employment physical and drug screening is required. The CSO provides a wide variety of routine non-sworn support and enforcement functions and services to the public and police department staff. Duties include responding to citizen complaints and inquiries, assisting uniformed police officers, performing animal control duties, investigating code violations, and issuing various municipal citations for parking, animal control, public nuisances, and other municipal code violations.
