Looking for activities for your kids to do this summer?! The City is hosting a week of fun activities through June 14 - June 17 for kids 8 - 13 years old. All activities are a separate event. There are 20 spots available for each day’s event. The cost is $15 per event or $40 for the whole week. If you sign up for at least one event, your child can attend the free morning pool party at the end of the week! Each event runs from 9 AM to 12 PM except for the pool party which runs from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Monday, June 143-D Art Day with Centre for Arts & Artists! Get creative by making an art sculpture of your very own! This will be hosted at the Centre for Arts & Artists. Address is 501 W 3rd St N.
Tuesday, June 15BIRD DAY with Jasper County Conservation! Come learn about the different bird species in Iowa. We will learn how to identify them, how they eat, and how they build their nest. Kids will get to experience building a nest using natural materials. This will be hosted at the Armory building at 1030 W 2nd St S. We will start at the Armory building then we will walk next door to Maytag Park. Please bring water bottles.
Wednesday, June 16SCIENCE/STEM DAY with the Newton High School! This is a day of exploring cool things! Explore how insects eat. Make a plant slide and look at the cells under the microscope. Make an origami DNA and make a lemon volcano! Enter the front doors of the Newton High School at 800 E 4th St S, and we will guide you to the science room.
Thursday, June 17FREE POOL PARTY at Maytag Park’s Pool.  Swim from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Address is 301 S 11th Ave W.
