The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of central Iowa including Jasper County. Strong winds will lead to very high fire danger over the next several days. Please do not burn as there is a potential for grassland fires to experience extreme fire behavior which could lead to a potential threat to life and property.
Wednesday: Strong northwest winds will overspread the area today, gusting in excess of 30 to 35 mph. Periodic rain showers will be seen as well.
Thursday - Saturday: Strong northwest winds, chilly temperatures, and periods of showers and/or snow showers will continue through Thursday night and Friday morning.
