[ARCHIVED] Newton Police Department Investigate Stabbing Incident

Police News Release

On September 29th, 2022 at 7:09 p.m. officers from the Newton Police Department and paramedics from the Newton Fire Department were dispatched to Git N Go, 801 1st Ave W, for a report of a stabbing. 

Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim who had been stabbed in the abdomen one time with a knife by an unknown assailant. The suspect was described as male and left the area in what was reported to be a gray sedan. The motive for the stabbing is unknown at this time. The victim was transported to a hospital for medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. 

This case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information in this case is encouraged to contact the Newton Police Department at 641-792-1547 or Jasper County Crime Stoppers at 641-792-8362.
