The City of Newton completed another medication drop-off at the Newton Fire Department on April 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The drop-off keeps unwanted and unused pills from being stolen and abused or flushed down the drain which eventually makes its way into our water system. This excellent program was made possible through the help of the Newton Police Department, Newton Fire Department, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, MINE Drug Task Force officers and employees from Employee Family and Resources. Over 60 pounds of medications were turned in.
