The Key Cooperative of Roland, Iowa, has donated $1,250.00 to the Newton Fire Department. This donation was matched with an additional gift of $1,250.00 from the Land O'Lakes Foundation. These donations were given to help enhance the quality of life in our local community. Fire Chief Wellik noted these monies will allow the Newton Fire Department to purchase grain bin rescue equipment. The Department does not currently own this type of equipment and these donations will help us better serve our citizens and equip our Department with essential tools needed to save lives in a grain bin rescue emergency.
