The City of Newton is currently accepting applications for Volunteer Firefighter positions. The department will require that you are 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent to apply. It is preferred that volunteer personnel live within a 15 minute response time. However, authorization may be granted to live further out on a case by case scenario. The hiring process will include, but is not limited to, a job specific physical ability test, written exam, oral interview, background investigation and physical. Our next volunteer testing date has been scheduled for April 18, 2015 at 9:00 AM.
