The City of Newton is currently accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/EMT. Iowa EMT Certification or Nationally Registered EMT required. Firefighter I and EMT-Paramedic preferred. The department will require Iowa Paramedic and HazMat Technician certification within two years of appointment. The hiring process may include, but is not limited to, a written exam, physical ability test, an oral interview and a background investigation. Candidates must live within the State of Iowa.
