It is that time of year again! Hometown Rewards is challenging volunteers and homeowners to weatherize Newton! Air leaks in a building can contribute to high heating bills. On Saturday, November 12th, teams of volunteers will address this and other efficiency issues by installing energy saving tools at no cost to Newton applicants. These tools include:
• Window kits
• Weather strips for doors
• Water heater insulation tubes
• LED lightbulbs
• Kitchen faucet aerators
• Bathroom faucet aerators
• outlet/switch plate gaskets
You can also call Jackie Boat at 641-521-0815 to get registered. Registration does not guarantee weatherization, as that will depend upon the capacity of the volunteer teams. All applicants will be put into a pool for two $500 energy efficiency prize drawings!
The weatherization team that is able to install the most items will also win a $500 prize for their organization or one of their choice. If you have interest in signing up a team, contact Jackie for details.
