The purpose of the Honor Guard is to be a ceremonial unit of the Newton Fire Department. Specifically the Honor Guard will be present for the following functions: the annual September 11 Memorial Service, Annual NFD Awards Banquet, any NFD or other fire department funeral service, and other functions by request. This summer the Honor Guard will be presenting the colors at two separate race events, July 14 and September 15, at the Iowa Speedway.
