The Police Department participated in Public Safety Day at the Jasper County Fair on July 15th. Officer Keith Pittman had the electric motorcycle on display along with other vehicles from police and fire agencies from across the county. The motorcycle continues to be a very popular conversation piece as well as an effective vehicle for patrol operations within the City. To date, the unit has deployed on patrol for 86 hours and has saved $104.00 in fuel costs. The Police Department reports all motorcycle activity and energy savings to Alliant Energy on a monthly basis.
