A public hearing has been set for the sale of the former Hotel Maytag building. The public hearing is scheduled for no less than 30 days prior to the proposed sale date of Sept. 18. '
Hatch Development Group brought a $400,000 proposal to the city council on Monday to purchase the building as a part of the rehabilitation project the group is currently developing. Hatch was chosen as the preferred developer for the project in May.
The proposal includes renovating the second through fifth floors into one and two bedroom apartments. It also includes a restoration of the ballroom into a space for community use and co-working space for tenants in the building.
