The Jasper County Substance Abuse Coalition, led by the Police Department, will be hosting a community conversation on substance abuse on September 28th at 7PM in the Newton High School auditorium. This is a community education event focusing on substance abuse within our community with specific discussions relating to alcohol abuse and the nationwide opioid epidemic. Expert presenters will be on hand for the event and local substance abuse providers will be available after the program for community members to discuss these issues and available resources in more depth. High school students will see youth focuses substance abuse presentation on the afternoon of the 28th. The evening event is open to the public.
