Mittera, the parent company to Rock Communications of Des Moines has donated $1,000 to the Fire Department. The funds donated were given toward the purchase of a detoxification sauna. Firefighters are exposed to many carcinogens, many of which are absorbed through the skin. Studies have shown that firefighters have very high risk for developing many cancers. This sauna project will allow them to sweat out the toxins after exposure.
