[ARCHIVED] Newton Police Department Completes August Seat Belt Survey

Seatbelt Survey
The Newton Police Department recently conducted a usage survey that showed strong results by motorists in the community. On August 31, 2017, the Newton Police Department observed both vehicle drivers and their passengers for seat belt usage.

Overall, the survey found 93 percent of motorists and passengers properly wearing their seat belts.

"The Newton Police Department would like to remind motorists to buckle up, slow down and obey all traffic laws," said Chief Rob Burdess.

Primary funding for the project was provided by the Iowa Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau.
