Battalion Chief Ed Clements retired on August 1, 2012 after serving the Newton Fire Department for 33 years. Chief Clements started as a firefighter in June of 1979 and filled positions within the department all the way up to the Chief’s position which he held for 4 years. “We will definitely miss Chief Clements,” says Fire Chief Jarrod Wellik, “He has dedicated many years to the people of Newton.”
