The Planning and Zoning Commission met on December 5, 2017. They reviewed and recommended approval of the Final Plat for Fairmeadows North Plat 8 - conditioning that approval on the inclusion a few housekeeping items that should appear on the face of the plat prior to City Council approval.
They also reviewed code language updates for the maximum lot coverage requirement in the R-1, R-2, and R-3 residential zoning districts. Their motion recommends approval to increase the maximum coverage requirement to 40% in all three districts.
As part of that discussion they also reviewed two nuisance code requirements - maximum allowed paving within the front yard setback and maximum allowed hard surface for a residential property. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended increasing the maximum allowed paving in the front yard area from 40% to 50%. They recommended no change to the 60% maximum total property coverage requirement (building footprint and paving).
Finally, the commission reviewed an amendment to the Fairmeadows North Plat 8 Urban Renewal Area. They found the amendment to be consistent with the City’s comprehensive plan.
