City Council approved the purchase of a new automated chest compression device. This device is placed on a patient’s chest and provides consistent, high quality chest compressions. It replaces equipment that had become extremely unreliable. This device was received on a Friday, training was prepared and delivered to on duty personnel and the unit was used on an actual call less than one hour later. In the spring of 2018 the Fire Department will be awarded another Lucas device through a grant procured by the Jasper County Emergency Management Agency as part of the Helmsley Grant.
