In 2017, the Code Enforcement Inspector received 658 new nuisance complaints for review. Although most of these cases were either unfounded or eventually corrected by the property owner, 82 cases ended with the abatement of the nuisance being completed either by the Code Enforcement Inspector or a contractor. Of these 82 abatement cases, the cost to abate the nuisance was then assessed to the property, with an average assessment of $165 levied per property.
