December’s Flash Book Sale was such a success that the Library, in partnership with the Friends of the Library, will be holding another Flash Book Sale on February 20th and 21st. Friends of the Library made over $500 in bag sales with the book sale special of buying a bag for $5.00 and all the books it can carry. From the $5.00, $3.50 goes to the Friends and $1.50 goes back to the Library and into the General Fund for Library Book Sales.
Books at the sale will be withdrawals from the Library’s collections; including adult non-fiction and fiction and children’s fiction and non-fiction books. Generally these books are offered for sale cart by cart throughout the year near the Circulation Desk but because of the limited shelf space in the new Library layout, larger amounts of books are being withdrawn prior to the Library closing for renovations. The public has had a large positive response to the Flash Book Sale and the Library and Friends may adopt this technique for future weeding projects at the Library.
