[ARCHIVED] Newton Community Education Foundation Donates Speed Radar Sign to Police Department

Speed Radar Sign

The Newton Community Education Foundation recently donated a speed radar sign to the Newton Police Department to utilize in school zones throughout the Newton community. Speed and distracted driving are the most prevalent cause of accidents throughout the community. The Newton Police Department and Newton Community Education Foundation’s partnership in this project will help bring greater awareness to speeding issues and make school zones safer. Several studies have shown that when speed radar signs are utilized in school zones, speeders will slow down up to 80% of the time. The speed radar sign is portable and will be rotated among several of the schools where speeding is prevalent.
