In preparation of Library Renovations the Library underwent a deep weeding. Weeding is a library term that means withdrawing books that are old, hold inaccurate information, have not checked out in years, or simply need to be taken out of circulation due to damage. Since January 1st, 2018, the Library has withdrawn 5,266 items! Due to the massive weeding we now have empty ranges and shelves that will be removed in the new layout allowing for more study space and an open floor plan. While the Library generally withdraws 3% of its collection each year, this year we will be sitting closer to 10%.
