The Police Department, along with Discovery Hope and Skiff Hospital, were chosen as finalists for the first Jasper County GEMS grant opportunity. Chief Burdess presented information on the body camera program to a group of approximately 30 community leaders on March 13th. Discover Hope was ultimately chosen for the grant, but the event garnered a higher level of understanding of the body camera program and some private donations from the audience.
