The Police Department presented a memorial bridge naming project to the Newton City Council on March 19th and Jasper County Board of Supervisors on March 20th to name 3 local bridges in honor of fallen Newton Police Department Officers Bobby Barrickman, Daniel McPherren and Lieutenant Patrick Richardson. The project received unanimous support and the approval allows the Police Department to send an application to the Iowa DOT for review and determination. If approved, this would be a great honor for 3 of our local heroes, their families and the men and women of the Newton Police Department who served with these officers.
