April was cooler than usual, which allowed staff time to remove and replace 63 cubic yards of PC concrete in the Public Works Building shop. The project included removing 40 feet of old rusted steel grates, that no longer were able to carry the weight of the trucks and equipment. The shop floor grade was changed to allow water to drain to the center of the floor and a new stainless steel grate was placed in the center of the shop. The completed project allowed for a smoother floor for cleanup and removed trip hazards from broken PC concrete.
