The Police Department launched the new in-car video and body cam program on June 5th. Several officers have been trained and have begun using the new system. The body cams are attached to the officer’s uniform in the mid-torso area via a magnetic mount. When not in use the cameras are docked for charging and downloading of digital evidence. The Police Department expects full installation and deployment of the in-car cameras by the end of July.
