For the first six months in 2018, 650 new nuisance cases were received or logged by the code enforcement inspectors. Approximately 60% of these were for tall grass or weeds, and approximately 30% were for trash or junk. The remainder of the cases were mostly for illegally parked cars and trailers. Of the 650 cases, 65 of these were abated by one of the City’s abatement contractors with the costs being assessed to the property owner.
