Pre-demolition asbestos abatement work is completed at both the former Mid-Iowa Motel (1803 1st Ave E) and the former Jasper Winery building (518 W 3rd St N). Howe Excavating of Newton, the prime contractor on the project, is set to begin demolition work this week.
