The Iowa Society of Fire Service Instructors presented Captain Rex Heisdorffer of the Newton Fire Department the Floyd Wm. Nelson Instructor of the Year Award for 2018 at their banquet in late November. This award is given for outstanding contributions in training the Fire Service in Iowa.
