The number of nuisance complaint cases totaled 1,050 in 2018.
The Community Services Division was able to add seasonal nuisance inspectors and have a more proactive approach to nuisances in 2018. These changes saw the number of cases saw a 73% increase from 2017 (608 cases) and a 105% increase when compared to 2016 (512 cases).
Of the 1,050 cases in 2018, 13% of these ended with one of the City’s abatement contractors completing the needed work.
Nuisances needing to be abated by the City’s contractors are trending down from 31% in 2016 and 18% in 2017.
