The long anticipated grand opening & ribbon cutting at the brand new Hardee’s restaurant occurred on Tuesday, January 8. Mayor Hansen and Council members Mullan, Stonner and Hallam were in attendance, along many of our key community stakeholders.
A group from Iowa Speedway displayed the official pace car and held an enter-to-win drawing with franchisee Westar Foods, offering tickets to the track’s 2019 events. Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amanda Price coordinated the ribbon cutting with the Chamber Ambassadors.
Westar Foods President Frank Westermajer remarked how pleased he was to be opening a new Hardee’s restaurant in Newton. The best news was the response from our citizens - a dozen folks were in line at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning for the anticipated 5:30 a.m. opening and business was “very brisk” all day!
