With your Newton Public Library card you can now check out an Adventure Pass! Adventure Pass, provides free general admission to the Science Center of Iowa, the Blank Park Zoo and the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden.
Newton Public Library cardholders are eligible for the program, if Newton is their city of residence or if they live in rural Jasper County. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Newton Public Library, and the Newton Public Library is excited to be able to offer this new program to families in Newton. “One of (the library’s) main purposes is to support education and literacy,” Youth Services Librarian Phyllis Peter said. “And part of literacy for children is making those connections in the world between what they’re reading in books. Visiting the places and seeing the animals or objects that they read about in books is a great extension of the learning experience.”
