[ARCHIVED] Public Works Operations / Streets - Snow Removal Operations

Public Works Operations / Streets - Snow Removal Operations

Even though 2019 started out with warmer than average temperatures, winter finally arrived with vengeance. Mother Nature showed up with snow, freezing rain, extremely cold temperatures, and exceptionally high winds.

Public Works crews have worked many 24 hour shifts the month of January plowing streets, cleaning up the downtown business district or being out opening roads and pushing back drifted areas after the snowfall. The extremely low temperatures and wind chills with these snow events have added more difficulty to the removal process. The fourth snow plow wing truck has helped greatly to provide better snow removal services to our citizens, by reducing the number of miles of streets that each operator is responsible for, allowing each operator to get through their route quicker and more often.
