The Civil Service Commission has approved establishing a candidate list for an 'Entry Level Firefighter' position. On March 6, 2013 the Newton Fire Department requested approval from Civil Service Commission to establish list of eligible candidates for entry level firefighter. The department has one position currently vacant. Advertising will begin April 1. The testing is tentatively scheduled for May 11, 2013 at the Fire Department.
