[ARCHIVED] Notice to Residents Who Own Pets Within the City of Newton

The Newton Police Department is reminding pet owners to purchase their 2019 licenses

Pet owners are being reminded that 2019 dog, cat and miniature pig licenses must be purchased by March 29, 2019, to avoid a late fee of $20.00. Licenses are available at the Newton Police Department, 101 W 4th St S, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The license fee for spayed/neutered animals is $15.00 and $25.00 if not spayed or neutered. Pet owners can receive a civil penalty fine of up to $150.00 for not having their pet licensed.

Residents need to bring proof of current rabies vaccinations for their pets when purchasing the license. The Newton Police Department does not accept debit or credit cards. We are only able to accept cash or checks at this time.
