Fire Chief Jarrod Wellik, Captain Calvin Swank and Firefighter/Paramedic Tyler Harsselaar attended the Firefighter Day on the Hill and 2nd Annual Chili Cook Off on March 25, 2013. Pictured at right State Representative Dan Kelley samples some of Newton’s chili with Wellik, Swank, and Harsselaar. In addition, Chief Wellik was able to discuss current needs of the fire service not only in Newton but in Iowa as well.
