Bring your children of all ages to help decorate an enormous gingerbread house. Lots of activities including crafts, cookies decorating, hot cocoa, and a visit from Santa. Free to the public.

Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you're done with them - keep the craft! The December theme is "Winter Wonderland" and includes a selection of holiday and winter themed novels. Want to join a book club but just don't have time for a regular meeting? Would you like to read a monthly recommendation from the comfort and quiet of home? This is the book club for you! Each month there's a new book selection, but there's never a meeting. Pick up your copy of the monthly book at the library Information Desk. Books are available at the beginning of the month and due at the end of the month. The selected books are: December 2022: Mr. Dickens and His Carol January 2023: The Thursday Murder Club

Children ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us for Preschool Storytime on Thursday mornings. Storytime includes books, music, and a simple craft. Siblings are welcome to attend. No registration required.

Load up the car and bring the family to see thousands of twinkling lights and more than 50 lighted displays at Maytag Park Holiday Lights sponsored by Clemon-Maki Insurance and organized by the City of Newton and Friends of Newton Parks. Admission is free each evening.
