Newton Public Library
Want to join a book club but just don't have the time for a regular meeting? Just looking for some great book recommendations? This is the book club for you! Each month there’s a new book selection, but there’s never a meeting. Pick up your copy at the Information desk. Books will be available on the first of the month, and are due back to the library by the end of the month. The May book selection is, "Beatrix Potter: A Life in Nature" by Linda Lear.
Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the books when you're done with them - keep the craft! The May theme is "Animal Tales" and includes a selection of our favorite fiction and non-fiction books about animals. The craft is a Beatrix Potter tin diorama. Registration opens April 24. Ages 18+ Please direct message the library on Facebook or call 641-792-4108 to register.
Storytime for newborns to 18 months with their caregiver. The storytime will run about 15 minutes and include an open playtime at the end.
Do you love true crime? Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to share our favorite podcasts, documentaries, books, and more! The monthly book selection can be picked up at the library information desk
Clean out your bookshelves and pick up some new-to-you books at our Spring Book Swap! Drop off your gently used books at the Library April 24 - 29 and pick up a book swap ticket for each book you bring in. Bring your tickets back on May 1st between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. to pick out new books from the swap to take home. Books should be in good condition, clean, and gently used. All covers and pages must be intact and should have minimal markings. We cannot accept books with mold, animal, or water damage. Questions? Contact Becca Klein at 641-792-4108.
